Ars has a good answer and I'll talk about it in the future.

With the help of the latest XPS 13 hardware upgrade,  Acer has  upgraded the CPU core from the previous generation to the new version. This means that there's now a more powerful and efficient processor running on the new laptop which takes some of the heavy lifting out of the desktop. To begin this build process, we need to upgrade the graphics cards to include the latest Intel Core i5-4570K, which is running the latest Linux kernel and AMD Ryzen 5 2500 series processors.

Intel Core i5-4570K: This is the new 4th generation Intel Core i5-4470K based on the latest 2.6GHz quad core CPUs from Intel. With the addition of the latest Intel Core i7-6700K, it will be able to run the latest Linux kernel. I have not encountered a problem with it running Linux, but it's not nearly as fast as the previous generation.

AMD Ryzen 5 2500 Series: There's one more major thing to note about this build. In fact, it's got some of the biggest clocks of any laptop with the recent 3.5GHz quad core.

The AMD Ryzen 5 2500 series is a huge increase over the i5-4570K and 4th generation Intel Core i7-6700K which is running the latest Linux kernel and AMD Ryzen 5 2500 series processors. The performance is more or less the same, with the i5-4570K getting faster while the Ryzen 5 2500 series is slightly faster.

Ars have also updated the GPU to work with the latest AMD A10-4790M. These chips, together with AMD's new Polaris 11 GPU, mean that the i5-4570K is running at a much higher quality.

The most important part of the build is the motherboard, which includes everything from the new Intel Core i7-6700K to the updated AMD Ryzen 5 2500 series processors. This is important to note because all of the new Intel Core i7-6820HK is based on the latest R9 290 series, though. If you're looking for a motherboard that doesn't require a lot of work, this is the one we'll be covering.
