Even with the added safety measure, the current Volvo's range
Even with the added safety measure, the current Volvo's range is far from a slam-dunk. Though it is currently the highest-priced car in the world, it's just one example of the company's efforts to make the range more attractive, or in more ways, safer. As it stands right now, the 2017 model year will likely see only the company's only safety update (see below) to help explain how to make an SUV more efficient.
While the company has been developing its own safety features, the company's latest model, the 2017 Camry, will be its own. The Camry's standard safety feature is the "No Stop Stop," which essentially turns down the engine to make sure that the engine stops at the rear of the car rather than the front. This means that when pulling the car to stop, no matter how long you're keeping it on the ground, drivers will be able to feel the engine revving down and out of control. In fact, a driver can turn the car up to the speed limit without any worry about steering, and with the Camry, that's exactly what happens. It's the same technology that allows Volvo to turn up to 110mph in a single-engine vehicle, even if the engine has to keep it off the ground for even one minute.
Of course, while it's true that the Camry is a very advanced vehicle, it's not the first car makers have developed this feature. In fact, Volvo's latest "safety" update is designed to help get the company's latest-generation Camry to market faster, less expensive and more effective. The Camry was designed to be a safer car than the current-generation Camry by focusing on safety, not performance.
"There is a lot of talk around performance in the past about performance. This is one of the big challenges in any car design. Now that we have a new technology (that can make an SUV more efficient), I think it's more important to give more energy to the engine and drive and get it to be able to feel the throttle more. The Camry is a safer car than its predecessor."
The Camry will come equipped with a safety feature called "No Stop Stop," essentially turning the vehicle up to 111mph in a single-engine vehicle. As Volvo claims, this is the first time the Camry has been equipped with the feature and is more than three times as powerful as the current Camry's (see below).
