Goldman's other most famous films include The King of Pop, The Twilight Zone (1973), La Bamba (1981), The Dark Knight Rises (1983), and The Great Gatsby (1989). Other screenwriters, including Henry Ford (1967), Harry Potter, Peter Jackson, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (1970), have all recently been nominated for screenwriting awards. And at least one of his most famous critics--Katherine Deneuve's Oscar-nominated novel The Girl who Came From Hell: The Story of Love and Death, which received an awards nomination in 2001--was nominated at the 2012 Academy Awards for the best supporting actor.
A few years ago, a friend of mine suggested that Goldman's best film in the last thirty years should be The Wizard of Oz. It was an absolutely awesome film. It took on a whole new dimension, a new perspective and a new direction, and one that many fans and movie critics would love to see made.
I had a friend who has been talking to Goldman for some time about some of his other projects, and he said, "You know, he is one of the most successful directors in cinema history. His writing has been outstanding, his movie scores have been outstanding. He is not afraid to throw in a few stars in a big package of films."
The fact that he didn't go on to write The Wizard of Oz is, in some ways, a reflection of his unique style as a screenwriter and an actor. One of the things that is so unique is that he has the ability to throw in a lot of different characters. He will make characters look like he knows them. He can throw in a lot of characters that he already has. And even when he does throw in a lot of characters, he will still have one or two actors that he never gets to be in a big movie.
Goldman is remembered, as the most prolific screenwriter of his generation, for his love of movies, especially movies that he loved and loved creating. He took this to a whole new level. He was very good at creating characters that were not seen as good, and not as likable, and that are not what people expected.
I always admired his writing. He was a very creative, very smart filmmaker. It's a testament to him, which is why so many people love him. He was a great inspiration for so many of his other films, but so many people have never seen him and have never been able
