Intel does not yet have a release date for Ice

Intel does not yet have a release date for Ice Lake-U, but it is expected to ship on 14 July for around $600 US. In other words, this is a much bigger deal than it probably would have been the first time you're hearing it described as such in a presentation at CES.

We'll update this post with an update from Intel, though, so keep an eye out. The release date for the 12nm Skylake-U part is likely set to be mid-2018 or mid-2019.The Trump administration has confirmed that a senior Republican lawmaker will be acting as a spokesperson for the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement occurred after Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to appoint Sen. Rob Portman, D-Ohio, as a spokesperson for the committee.

A spokesperson for Sen. Jeff Sessions said, "Sen. Portman's appointment follows an investigation into the 2016 election that took place last week. The committee is working closely with Attorney General Sessions and the American people to ensure that the Judiciary Committee conducts a thorough, impartial investigation of the Trump campaign's alleged collusion with Russia, and that the American people fully understand why it happened."

But, the spokesperson did not say when any further information would be provided, but said that the committee is still examining the matter. The committee is expected to hold an oral hearing on whether Portman can appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"It is important to note that Sen. Portman will not appear before the committee. Sen. Portman has not been a member of the Judiciary Committee," the spokesperson said. "The Committee will consider his confirmation as a member of the committee."

The decision was made over the weekend, after the White House announced they would not allow the committee to review new documents.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., said it's "absolutely" against the law to "discredit or disparage the President personally" and said he expects the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on his nomination.

"I am very much surprised that Senator Portman has not been part of the committee," Whitehouse said. "But I think it is very important for the American people that he is a member of the Senate and that the Judiciary Committee will be able to provide a thorough, unbiased inquiry into the Trump campaign's possible collusion with Russia."
