The big deal here is the dual-lens system. The Mac mini includes a 1,280 x 540 resolution display, a 13:9 aspect ratio, 2 GB of RAM, and a 16GB of onboard storage. As with my previous Mac mini, there are no dual-lens options available, but there's also no dock or power adapter. The rear panel sits atop a 15.2-inch Retina display, providing a great looking look and feel.
You can't even see the bottom of the chassis. The top edge of the chassis is the dual-lens display, and the back is a standard 10.6" HD IPS panel.
The display is the same as my earlier Mac mini. When I first reviewed this device, I was very impressed. It is, in my opinion, a good looking, but a bit too bright, and not the most vibrant and pleasing display I've seen in a computer. I'd rather see the bottom edge of the chassis turned off or in. It is, however, the same as my earlier Mac mini. I'd rather see the bottom edge of the chassis turned off or in.
The bottom edge of the chassis is not always as bright as my previous Mac mini. This time around, I was pleased to see that my MacBook Pro 2.7s were also able to pick up the best of both worlds: the brightest color and the most crisp display.
The display of the new Mac mini is the same as my previous Mac mini.
There are two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports on the back, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The back is a standard 10.6" HD IPS panel, with a 13:9 aspect ratio, 2 GB RAM, and a 16GB of onboard storage.
The rear panel sits atop a 15.2-inch Retina display, with a 13:9 aspect ratio, 2 GB RAM, and a 16GB of onboard storage.
The main panel is the same as my previous Mac mini. The front panel is the same as my previous Mac mini. The rear panel sits atop a 15.2-inch Retina display, with a 15.2-inch-wide, 11:9 aspect ratio, 2 GB RAM, and a 16GB of onboard storage.
The laptop itself has not been optimized for the new MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pro 8.7 has a much more powerful Intel Core i5 processor, with a 5.6GHz
