The first of these Smart Display units was launched for a couple of hours at CES in June. It looks like this will be the first time that Google has introduced the Google Assistant to its smart home market.
We have to give the Hub a shot, but there's some good news for those of you who have been following Google Home. The Google Assistant features a set of smart features. The most important of which is "Show off the home screen," which is a gesture to the Home screen that lets you know if a house is ready for you.
As you're going to see, you'll be able to choose between 3 basic settings:
You can also select "Show off the home screen."
In many ways, the Home Assistant features an interesting twist for smart home owners—most of the other features of Google Home are already available in Google Assistant. These include the ability to turn on "Show Off all Home screen buttons" (and the ability to turn off the Home screen's "Show Off all Home screen buttons" option by right-clicking on the Home screen, but that's a separate feature).
These are pretty neat. The first smart feature is the ability to select that feature, and that feature is "Show Off all Home screen buttons." To turn off all buttons, you'll have to click on the "Show Off all Home screen buttons" option.
