Subscribe TodayA new report from The American Prospect found that more than half of the public thinks Donald Trump's foreign policy record is "good enough" for him to be president.
According to the poll found that only 38 percent of those surveyed believe that Obama's handling of the Iraq war, while still allowing the president to remain in office, will be good enough for him to be president.
That's down from 47 percent in 2013, when Obama was commander in chief, but up from 54 percent in 2012, when he was vice president.
But the poll also found that 58 percent said that the Obama administration was too slow in trying to rein in North Korea, and only 32 percent did that in 2013.
"I think the president has a lot of work to do on North Korea," said Andrew Weiss, a former head of U.S. Strategic Studies who was on the report.
Weiss said his report suggested that the Obama administration is too slow in dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat.
"I think we can be doing our best to be more inclusive about the Iranian threat," Weiss told The Daily Beast. "[But] I think you're getting to the point where a lot of the work that's done is actually going to be done by people outside the administration who are interested in looking at the Iranian threat and who want to see what's happening."
In response to the report, the Trump administration has made few changes to its foreign policy posture. On Friday, the United States announced that it would withdraw from the Paris climate summit and the United Nations will "ensure a level playing field" over Iran.
