This isn't just about apps. Apple also has an ongoing effort to make sure it's not getting in the way of commercial uses to distribute pirated apps. Earlier this year , Apple began offering a program called "Apple Developer Program" to all Apple developers, allowing them to run commercial apps on every platform running on the company's platform. This has allowed Apple to use its platform to distribute apps that are based on proprietary versions of the operating system.
Apple is also currently seeking to gain legal status under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).A woman is suing her former employer, alleging that she was fired after she was fired over a social media campaign that she said showed that her former boss knew she was a transsexual.
A former employee of U.S. Rep. Tom Cole says his former employer, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), gave her an "unacceptable" promotion, despite knowing that she was a transgender woman.
"It's like Tom Cole's story," said the transgender woman who spoke out against Cole in an online petition posted on her own personal account.
"That's a disgrace," she said.
Meadows told BuzzFeed News that he was fired "because he knew I wasn't one of the transgenders he saw with respect to the other employees." He told BuzzFeed News he has not been fired "because of one or two transgenders." He said he has not been offered jobs, but for the past few years, he has been working under a promotion with staff, the petition said.
