This new "Xbox Play Anywhere" branding may seem odd, but it's something Microsoft is trying to get out of Windows.
Microsoft's announcement does add to the already significant amount of content it's already releasing for the Xbox 360, Windows and PC. According to this week's Xbox One post, Xbox Live subscribers can play Halo 5 on Xbox One, as well as on Windows 10 PCs. The same post also notes a new multiplayer mode for the game, a competitive map-building mode, a new online multiplayer mode for Xbox One, and the addition of a downloadable Xbox store-style console.

But it's not just the military that is funding American and allied forces in Afghanistan, as the New York Times reports.
The U.S. has even been making the argument that foreign forces are being deployed to help the U.S. fight against its enemies:
The Army is also in charge of the Afghan National Army, which now has more than 6,000 soldiers in the country, a senior U.S. official said, adding that the new Afghan National Guard will provide a military base for the new force.
The U.S. has never publicly discussed military involvement in Afghanistan, but in 2012, then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said, "We should be very clear that we're not
